Montero Sport 2WD V6-3.0L SOHC (1997)
CAUTION: Support special tool MB990635 or MB991113 or equivalents with a cord, etc. to prevent it from coming off.
NOTE: Using the special tool, loosen the tie rod end mounting nut. Only loosen the nut; do not remove it from the ball joint.
Use special tool MB990635 or MB991113 or equivalents to disconnect the ball joint.
INSPECTION
Pitman arm dust cover check as follows: If there are any cracks in or damage to the dust cover, replace the pitman arm.
INSTALLATION
Installation in reverse order as removal.
NOTE: Operational steps after installation as follows:

Fill power steering fluid.

Bleed Power steering fluid line. See: Service and Repair

Check steering wheel position with wheels straight ahead.

Front wheel alignment adjustment.
