INSPECTION 

Overdrive Direct Clutch Disc

1. Using a micrometer, measure the thickness of the clutch disc.

Limit: 1.84 mm (0.072 inch) 

NOTE:  The thickness must be measured at two or three points. Compare the average value with the limit.

Return Spring Assembly

1. Measure the free length of the spring including the spring seat.

Standard value: Approximately 15.8 mm (0.62 inch) 

Overdrive Direct Clutch Piston

1. Check that the check ball is free by shaking the piston.
2. Check that the valve does not leak by applying low-pressure compressed air.

Operation Of One-way Clutch

1. While holding the overdrive direct clutch drum, turn the input shaft clockwise to see that the shaft turns smoothly and turn it counterclockwise

to see that the shaft is locked.
