BRAKE VACUUM HOSE - SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN
PURPOSE
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA) is voluntarily recalling affected vehicles for brake vacuum hose replacement. The hose, located
between the engine and the hydraulic brake booster, does not have enough strength to meet a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
Dealers must inspect the brake vacuum hose as described in this bulletin to determine whether the correct hose is installed. If the incorrect hose is
installed on the vehicle, replace with a new hose listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1999-2001 Montero Sport models produced 6/1/98 - 1/22/01 equipped with 3.5L engine
IMPORTANT
Affected inventory vehicles must be inspected/repaired before the vehicle is sold. Dealers must check their inventory vehicles' VINs on the Warranty
Super Screen to verity whether the vehicle is an affected VIN for this recall campaign.
