Montero Sport XLS 4WD V6-3.0L SOHC (1999)
Apply a coating of the Automatic transmission fluid DEXRON-II to the outside of the bearing. Using special tools MB990938 and M13991203,
press the oil seal into the valve housing.

Apply a coating of the Automatic transmission fluid DEXRON-II to the outside of the bearing. Using special tools MB990938 and M13991203,
press the bearing into the valve housing.
>D< Seal Ring Installation
Press the seal ring firmly into the valve groove.
>E< Cage, Balls, Bearing Race And Mainshaft Installation
1. Apply the Automatic transmission fluid DEXRONE-11 to the mainshaft.
2. Wrap a vinyl tape around the serrated part so that the oil seal won't be damaged when the mainshaft is installed to the valve housing.
3. Mount the mainshaft to the valve housing.
4. Align the cage's hole and the channel in the mainshaft and insert two or three balls.
5. Insert the remainder of the balls into the cage's hole while pressing the ball with the bearing race.
6. When installing the mainshaft, connect it to the valve housing while pressing the bearing race so that the balls do not come out.
