Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Remove air intake hose from throttle body, then the accelerator cable.
2. Remove coolant hoses, PCV hose, then the brake booster hose.
3. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under Technician Safety Information, then disconnect high pressure fuel hose connector.
4. Remove surge fuel tank assembly, then disconnect fuel injector harness connector.
5. Remove delivery pipe with fuel injectors and pressure regulator as an assembly.
6. Remove insulator from intake manifold, then disconnect wiring harness connector between water temperature unit and water temperature sensor.
7. Remove thermostat housing and thermostat.
8. Remove distributor, ignition coil, then the intake manifold stay.
9. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.

10. Reverse procedure to install.
