Radio Kit - Description/Installation

RADIO KIT, P/N 39.09

MODELS:

405 DL

A second radio kit is now available for the 405 DL, and consists of the following components:

1.

12 watt Clarion radio, P/N 39.06

2.

Front tweeters

3.

Front woofers

4.

Front woofer wiring extensions (required)

5.

Manual telescopic antenna

All 405 DL vehicles are pre-wired with all radio and speaker wiring.

This radio, which is not fitted with red anti-theft blinking diode, may be installed with the DL flip-down radio cover.

Customers may wish to consider purchasing the following additional items:

1.

Rear woofers - P/N 9711.C8 (2 per vehicle)

2.

Rear power antenna - P/N 9716.40

Install DL radio retaining flip-down cover:             00.55 hours

Installation Instructions - 405 DL Radio

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - 405 DL RADIO (FROM KIT P/N 39.06)

1.

Engage parking brake fully

2.

Place shift lever in "1" (Automatic) or "4" (Manual)

3.

Place fender cover (or equivalent) over console and gearshift lever to prevent scratching

4.

Remove "storage box" from radio opening in dashboard.  Insert your hands as shown below into the storage box below the radio. Press with your
thumbs outward and remove the box.

5.

Remove radio, owner's manual, and trim ring from box.

6.

Write radio serial number in the owner's manual; place owner's manual in "lockable" glove box.

7.

Remove one of the two hex-shaped spacers in the rear radio support.

8.

Move wiring loom for radio to left side of opening and antenna lead to right side.

9.

Hold radio near opening and connect radio wiring and antenna lead to corresponding vehicle connectors. Be sure that no wires are positioned on
top of the ashtray compartment.

10.

Insert radio 1/4 of the way into radio opening.

11.

Insert one hand into opening below ashtray and locate radio rear nipple and rear radio support bracket.
