Engage parking brake fully

Place shift lever in "1" (Automatic) or "4" (Manual)

3.

Place fender cover (or equivalent) over console and gearshift lever to prevent scratching

Remove "storage box" from radio opening in dashboard. Insert your hands as shown below into the storage box below the radio. Press with your
thumbs outward and remove the box.

Remove radio, owner's manual, and trim ring from box.

6.

Write radio serial number on page 2 of owner's manual; place owner's manual in "lockable" glove box.

FLIP-DOWN COVER REMOVED:  If the customer wants the flip-down cover removed, proceed as follows. If not, skip to Step 8.

To install the "mounting bracket," it is first necessary to remove the spring-loaded flip-down  cover which conceals the radio compartment:

Open cover.

Insert a thin flat-blade screwdriver or pocket knife between the dash and the lower tabs of the cover. Gently pry in to release the guide
pins.

C.

Pull cover straight out away from dash until lower guide pins fully disengage from dash.

D.

Gently pry in on upper tabs to disengage guide pins from dash. CAUTION: Upper guide pins have a spring attached to them that might
make it difficult to free tabs.

Remove cover.

F.

To remove springs, simply let them drop to the floor behind dash. Retrieve springs by reaching into storage compartment under ashtray.

G.

Remove 6 mm bolt (10 mm hex) from top center of radio compartment as shown below and discard.

H.

Slide radio "mounting bracket" (trim) into radio opening until it bottoms.

I.

Reinstall longer 6 mm bolt and washer to retain mounting bracket. IMPORTANT: Torque to 0.3-0.4 mdaN (2.2-2.9 ft.lbs.)
