WATER LEAK THROUGH FRONT DOOR SPEAKER AND ONTO CARPET

THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 362 DATED SEPTEMBER, 1989
COMPLAINT:
During heavy rain and if the vehicle is parked facing downhill, water entering the door runs down the inner door frame onto the speaker. If the speaker
housing gasket is not properly seated against tbe door, water could run past the speaker and over the door sill, onto the carpet (see figure 1).
Cause:
A.
The seal around the speaker housing in the door panel (a) may not provide sufficient contact with the door.
B.
The speaker wire retaining clip (b) may interfere with the proper sealing of the insulating sheet against the door (see figure 2).
