Remove the speaker and door panel

Remove the existing speaker housing gasket (A1) and replace with a new type seal (A2) supplied under P/N 9391.W5 (see figure 3)

Ensure that the speaker wire retaining clip (b) protrudes through the insulating sheet and that the sheet is firmly pressed against tbe inner door
skin

Reinstall the door panel

Check to make sure that the door panel is fully seated against the door by clip (c) (see fig 4)

If necessary, install a new clip (P/N 6992.51)

On 1989 and 1990 models only, apply a sealer (such as T-3 Silicone Sealer, 3M P/N 08660, or equivalent) to the holes at (b) (see figure 4)

Reinstall the speaker and ensure that the wiring (d) loops down at (e) (see figure 5)

Repeat for the other side if necessary
Important:
A revision to the inner door skin on front doors supplied under P/N 9004.A6 and 9004.A8 has made the installation of the new speaker door seal (P/N
9391.W5) mandatory during front door replacement.
NOTE:
These new front doors have been installed in production on 405 vehicles built as of VIN 0521014.
Also, during installation of a new insulating sheet (P/N 9365.23 and 9365.24), punch a hole through the sheet at the point where the speaker wiring
