Remove any carbon deposit from the outside of the nozzle using the brass wire brush. Remove any carbon deposit from the tip of the needle.

Polish the needle seat with a piece of close grained hardwood dipped into test fluid.

8)

Visually inspect the needle valve for apparent damage or wear. A rough machined appearance on the pressure shoulder is not a sign of wear.
