The covers are ea3ier to remove with the convertible top compartment open. Do not let the covers fall to the floor, and place them in the box
(Item 3, position M) after removing them.

2.1.3 Open the convertible-top compartment lid sufficiently (approx. 450) 50 that the 2 plastic screws on the C-pillars are accessible.

2.1.4 Unscrew the plastic screws with a phillips screwdriver and place them in the box.

Warning! 

Danger of injury by the mechanism of the convertible top and the convertible top compartment during work in the area of the C-pillars. Fingers can
be severed or hands can be crushed!

Disable the convertible by completely removing the vehicle key from the ignition/steering lock.

2.1.5 Screw bolt into the rear threaded hole (Figure 7).

Note: 

This bolt must be left in place on the vehicle when the RTS is removed, otherwise the micro-encapsulation of the thread will be destroyed.

2.1.6 Completely close the convertible top compartment lid until the convertible top indicator light is no longer illuminated.

2.1.7 Place hardtop on the vehicle (refer to Owner's Manual).

2.2

Fitting C-pillar adapters. The following work steps can be performed on the vehicle with the hardtop fitted, with the convertible top open or
closed.

2.2.1 Insert the corresponding adapter with the flange underneath the convertible top compartment lid in the area of the C-pillar.

2.2.2 Position cutout at the outer contour of the adapter (Figure 8, Item B) on the shaft of the bolt (Item A) and tighten the pre-fitted pan-head bolt (Item

C) firmly.

Fitting the RTS (refer to Figure 2).

Important:

In order to avoid damage to the body, attach the included cardboard assembly aids (Figure 2, Item F) to the adapters.

3.1

Fitting the support bows. Align support bows in front of the adapters. First position the M8x12 countersunk screw with support bow on the
A-pillar adapter. Then position the safety screw with support bow on the C-pillar adapter.

3.2

Fitting the support tubes. Place front tube (a sticker on the bottom of the support tubes indicates whether the support tube is to be fitted at the front
