Rear Suspension

Removing and installing rear drive shaft 

Removal 

Note!

Before raising the vehicle, undo the drive shaft fastening at the wheel side! Operate the brake whilst doing so (2 workers required).

In order to prevent damage to the drive shaft, suspension subframe or transmission flange, a protective tube -B- should be pulled over the drive
shaft or the drive shaft should be secured.

Removal of the drive shaft requires removal of the rear axle transmission.

1. Release axle nut (vehicle on ground), also operate the brake (2 workers required) and raise vehicle.
2. Remove wheel.
3. Remove rear muffle.

4. Install protection -B- for drive shaft. Release drive shaft on inside at transmission (both sides) and connect, e.g. with tie-wrap. This will prevent

damage to the drive shaft, suspension subframe or transmission flange.

5. Remove rear final drive.
6. Release connecting rod at top on side from which drive shaft should be removed.
