DME control unit is only programmed with the data record for standard Turbo vehicle -without I-no. E81-

DME control unit and immobilizer code must be taught on the vehicle

-

The immobilizer code and enabling code for the power kit must be enabled for the vehicle in IPAS

7.1.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester 9718 and switch on the ignition.

7.1.2 Select "Vehicle type" and "DME control units". Press >> to continue.

7.1.3 Read out existing data for the DME control unit by selecting "Identification" in the "Cayenne DFI function selection" menu and then go

back to the "Cayenne DFI function selection" menu.

7.1.4 Select "Program control unit" in the "Cayenne DFI function selection" menu. Press >> to continue.

7.1.5 Select "Program control unit" in the "Cayenne DFI control unit programming" menu. Press >> to continue.

7.1.6 Follow the instruction on the PIWIS Tester as far as selecting the vehicle type. Select the vehicle type ("Cayenne V8 turbo"), model

year ("As of MY 08") and transmission type ("Tiptronic"). Press >> again to continue.

7.1.7 Specify the exhaust emission standard. The following can be selected here, depending on regulations in each country:

Select the relevant exhaust emission standard. Press >> to continue.

NOTE:

Five spaces ("00000") are provided for entering the immobilizer code. If the code only has 4 digits, keep the zero as the first digit.

7.1.8 Enter the immobilizer code. Press >> to continue and confirm your entry by pressing F7.

7.1.9 Enter the enabling code. Press >> to continue and confirm your entry by pressing F7.

7.1.10 Once programming is complete (after approx. 35 - 45 minutes), you are prompted to switch off the ignition and message "Switch

ignition off/on to exit the function, then erase the fault memory" appears.

Switch off the ignition to continue.

7.1.11 Vehicle data must be written manually. Press >> to continue.

7.1.12 Programming was completed successfully. Press >>

7.2 Read out the fault memory of all control units, correct any existing faults, and the erase the fault memory.

7.3 ONLY for vehicles manufactured up to May 2008 (CW 22):

7.3.1 Bleed the brake system --> Workshop Manual '47010750 Bleeding the brake system'.

7.3.2 Align the vehicle at the front --> Workshop Manual '4400IN Suspension alignment complete'.

7.3.3 Adjust the vehicle at the front --> Workshop Manual '4400TW Adjustment values for suspension alignment'.

NOTE:

When replacing one of the following components >> DME (DFI) control unit and/or high-pressure pump (also when replacing the engine) << from the
fuel system, the adaptations in the DME (DFI) control unit must be adapted to the system again.

Rough engine running is possible until the adaptations are completed.

Noticeable decreases in engine performance may also occur.
