6. Convert intake manifold on the engine

6.1 Remove intake manifold assembly (--> Figure 17) --> Workshop Manual '244619 Removing and installing intake-air distributor on DFI

engines - section on "Removing"'.

6.2 Clean sealing faces on intake manifold/engine.

6.3 Install new intake manifold assembly --> Workshop Manual '244619 Removing and installing intake-air distributor on DFI engines - section

on "Installing"'.

6.4 Install new Y-shaped pipe assembly

6.4.1 Remove bellows at the left/right.

6.4.2 Install Y-shaped pipe assembly (--> Figure 18) --> Workshop Manual '243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing on

DFI engines (intake ports upstream of throttle valve) - section on "Installing"'.

6.4.3 Fit bellows at the left/right.

6.5 Install engine cover and new throttle body cover --> Workshop Manual '108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover) on DFI

engines - section on "Installing"'.

7. Concluding work

7.1 Program the DME control unit.

The following requirements must be met in order to program the DME control unit for a performance-enhanced engine:
