Engine Immobilisation

The engine is immobilised when the perimetric alarm is set, inhibiting the engine primary electrical circuits. Immobilisation is removed when the LH handset button is pressed.

Passive Engine Immobilisation

Even if the car is not locked, the passive immobilisation feature will be enabled 30 seconds after ignition is switched OFF and the driver’s door has been opened. This state is indicated by the anti-theft alarm indicator flashing. While the door is opened, the anti-theft alarm indicator illuminates continuously. The engine can be re-mobilised by pressing the LH button on the handset.

If the ignition is turned ON when the engine is immobilised, a warning buzzer is sounded. If this happens, there is no need to turn the ignition OFF, but if either button on the handset is pressed the engine will be re-mobilised. This action will neither lock the car nor arm the alarm.

Engine Immobilisation Overide

If the handset fails to operate or is lost, mobilisation can be achieved by using the door key to enter the four digit key access code (shown on the security card). With the driver’s door locked, enter the code as follows:

  1. Insert the key into the door lock, turn to the locked position and hold for 5 seconds before releasing.
  2. Turn the key to the ’unlock’ position the required number of times to enter the first digit of the code (if the first digit is 4, turn the key to the unlock position four times).
  3. Turn the key to the ’lock’ position for the number of times to enter the second digit of the code.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the third and fourth digits.
  5. Turn the key to the ’unlock’ position to unlock the door.

If the code has been entered successfully, the anti-theft alarm indicator will stop flashing and the engine can be started. If the operation is unsuccessful, a warning beep will sound when the key is finally turned to the unlock position.
