The Perimetric Alarm

Each door, the bonnet and the tail door incorporates a switch that closes as the door or bonnet is opened. When a switch is closed, an earth signal is sent to the alarm ECU on the P/S wire for the driver’s door, on P/W wires for the three other passenger doors, on a P/R wire for the taildoor and on a P/P wire for the bonnet.

If a door is opened when the alarm is armed, the alarm ECU causes the horn to be sounded. Once triggered, the horn will sound for a period of 25 to 30 seconds - it can be silenced by pressing either button on the handset, or by use of the key.

NOTE: In some markets, a separate sounder is used instead of the horn.

The perimetric alarm can be set by either the handset or by locking the driver’s door with the key. Access to the vehicle is permitted using the key to unlock either the driver’s door or the tail door; the alarm will be restored when the doors are re- locked with the key.

Ultrasonic Space Protection

An ultra-sonic sensor, mounted in the roof lining, will detect movement within the passenger compartment and send a signal to the alarm ECU on the W/B and N/B wires. To minimise false alarms, a checking period of 15 seconds elapses before a movement can trigger the alarm.

The ultra-sonic space protection will only be enabled if the handset is used to arm the alarm.
