Passenger’s door window switch
The passenger’s door window switch has battery voltage supplied to the normally open contacts on the N/Y wire from fuse 22. An earth is connected to the normally closed positions on B wires resulting in earth connections to both terminals of the passenger window motor on U and R wires. Operation of the switch connects battery voltage to one side of the motor causing it to rotate and the window to move. Operation of the switch in the opposite direction will cause the motor and hence the window to reverse direction. The switch is spring loaded and returns to the central position when it is not being operated. The window will operate until it is fully open/closed or the switch is released.
WINDSCREEN WIPERS AND WASHERS OPERATION
The wiper system is a two speed system, it also incorporates intermittent wipe and a screen wash facility. The fast speed and slow speed are controlled directly via the column switches. The intermittent wipe is controlled by the multi-function unit (MFU). The windscreen wipers will only operate when the ignition is switched on.
The main power supply for the front wash/wipe system is on a G/S wire from fuse 13 to the wash/wipe switch and wiper motor. When the wash switch is operated the battery voltage on the G/S wire is supplied to the windscreen wash pump and the MFU on the LG/B wire. The earth return for the windscreen wash pump is on the B wire.
Wiper normal speed With the wiper switch in the normal speed position, the supply on the G/S wire from fuse 13 is switched to the motor on a U/LG wire. The earth path for the motor is on a B wire.
Wiper fast speed With the wiper switch in the fast speed position, the supply on the G/S wire from fuse 13 is switched to the motor on a R/LG wire. The earth path for the motor is on a B wire.
Intermittent wipe When intermittent wipe is selected the 12 volt supply on the G/S wire is switched to the MFU on the LG/G wire, signalling the requirement for intermittent wipe.
