INTERIOR LAMPS

Fuses 3 and 19 in the passenger’s compartment fuse box, supply the power for the interior lamps directly from the battery, on W/R and R/B wires respectively.

Courtesy Lamp

The front interior lamp, mounted in the headlining and towards the front of the car, is powered from fuse 3 via a three-position, OFF/NORMAL/ON switch, marked as ’0 , . , and 1’.

In normal operation, (position ’ . ’), the courtesy lamp will illuminate when any of the doors are opened and also when the car is unlocked using the handset. Closing the door will result in the lamp being extinguished after an MFU controlled delay.

The lamp can also be permanently lit by switching to the ’1’ position; the earth return for the lamp (festoon type bulb) is provided internally in the lamp assembly. When the switch is in the ’ . ’ (NORMAL) position, the earth return is via the U/W wire and multi-function unit (MFU).
