Engine Flywheel Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the manual transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (Engine and Transmission) (See: Manual Transmission/Transaxle/Service

2. Remove the thrust plate and clutch disc. Refer to Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Pilot Bearing Replacement (See: Clutch/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the flywheel.

Lock the flywheel via the starter ring gear with KM-652 (1).
*
Remove the 6 bolts.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the flywheel.

Clean the thread in the crankshaft.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

Use new bolts.
Tighten the 6 bolts to 35 Nm (26 lb ft) plus 30 degrees plus 15 degrees.

Remove KM-652 .
2. Install the thrust plate and clutch disc. Refer to Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Pilot Bearing Replacement (See: Clutch/Service and Repair).
3. Install the manual transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (Engine and Transmission) (See: Manual Transmission/Transaxle/Service
