SW1 L4-1.9L SOHC VIN 8 (1996)
Radius Arm: Service and Repair
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel assembly.
2.
Remove and discard lower control arm ball stud cotter pin.
3.
Loosen but do not remove left lower control arm ball stud castle nut.
4.
For lefthand side of vehicle, proceed as follows:
a. Using tool No. SA9132S or equivalent, separate lower control arm from steering knuckle. Do not use wedge type tool or ABS speed sensor
ring or seal damage may occur.
b. Remove lower control arm ball joint castle nut.
c. Remove left front inner fender splash shield.
d. Remove lower control arm to cradle attaching nut and bolt.
5.
For righthand side of vehicle, proceed as follows:
a. Turn wheel left to gain access, then remove tension strut to lower control arm attaching nut and washer.
6.
For both sides, remove tension strut to cradle bracket attaching bolts.
7.
Remove tension strut and left control arm assembly.
8.
Remove control arm to tension strut attaching nut and washer, then separate.
9.
Reverse procedure to install.
