Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Handle and centralisers for fitting the clutch plate -U-10050-8-
t  Torque spanners -SAT 8010-
t  Tool for immobilising flywheel -T20075A-

   
  Note!
t  Always replace any clutch plates and pressure plates with damaged or loose rivets.
t  If replaced fit clutch and pressure plate according to the Parts Catalogue.
1 - Flywheel
q   Check that the centring pins are correctly seated
q   The contact surfaces with the clutch plate must be free from grease and without grooves
q   Removing and fitting the flywheel: → 4 cyl. diesel engine, mechanical; Rep. Gr.13
2 - Clutch plate
q   Diameter → Chapter, Code letters, group numbers, ratios, filling quantities
q   Lightly lubricate the splines
q   Assembly position: The spring cage should be facing the clutch press
q   Center → Fig.
  Note!
Clean the input shaft and clutch plate splines Eliminate rust from used clutch plates. Apply a thin layer of -G 000 100- grease to the input shaft splines. Then the clutch plate must be moved on the input shaft from side to side until the hub slides smoothly on the shaft Eliminate excess grease.
3 - Clutch press
q   Removing and installing → Fig.
q   Check the ends of the diaphragm → Fig.
  Note!
The clutch presses are greased and protected from corrosion. Only the contact surface can be cleaned, otherwise the useful life of the clutch is reduced.
4 - Bolt
q   Correspondance → Parts Catalogue
q   20 Nm
q   Loosen and tighten diagonally several times

   
Removing and fitting the clutch press and centring the clutch plate
–  Loosen and tighten the bolts diagonally several times, locking the flywheel with tool -T20075A-.
–  Use tool -U-10050-8/F- to centre the clutch plate.
  Note!
t  The contact surfaces of the clutch press and the clutch plate must rest entirely on the flywheel.
t  Tighten the securing nuts uniformly and diagonally to avoid damaging the press centring holes and the flywheel centring pins.

Checking the ends of the diaphragm
l  The wear limit is up to half the thickness of the edges of the diaphragm -arrows-.
