Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor
  L00-10226
t  Pliers -T20029-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
  Note
t  Brake fluid is toxic. It should not come into contact with the paintwork due to its corrosive effects.
t  Do not operate the clutch pedal while the repairs are still being carried out.
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth strap.
  Note
For vehicles fitted with a coded radio, first check the anti-theft code
–  Remove engine cover. → Booklet2
–  Remove air cleaner housing; gasoline engines → Rep. Gr.24 and diesel engines → Rep. Gr.23.
–  Remove the battery and the battery support: → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27

–  Remove the connection cable along with the selection rod -2-, to do this release the bolt -1-.
  Note
There are two types of transfer levers: plastic and metal.
Metal idler rod
–  Fit the idler rod → Chapter
Plastic idler rod:
–  Fit the idler rod → Chapter

–  Loosen bracket for switch and gear selection line -arrows- from transmission housing and lay down to side
–  Remove the pipe -3- from the support -4- on the gearbox.
–  Separate the tube -3- from the slave cylinder by removing the clamp -2-. Cover the tube.
–  Remove the slave cylinder from the gearbox casing by extracting the bolts -5-.
  Note
t  When extracting the cylinder, shorten the rod slightly.
t  Do not depress the brake pedal.
t  Do not open the brake pressure system
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. When installing, note the following:
–  Lubricate the end of the rod with lubricating grease, according to → Parts catalogue..
–  Secure the clutch slave cylinder to the gearbox with a torque of 20 Nm.
–  Insert the pipe and hose assembly fully onto the slave cylinder.
–  After having fitted the clutch slave cylinder, the clutch system must be bled of air → Chapter.
–  Adjust the gear selection mechanism → Chapter.
