5th gear synchromesh ring: checking wear > < Dismantling

–  To fit, slide the mobile sleeve onto the synchromesh.
l  Installation position: the thinnest grooves -arrow C- of the synchromesh locking elements are aligned with the grooves -arrow D- of the mobile sleeve.
   
–  Fit the locking elements in the deepest grooves -arrows- and fit the springs off-set by 120º. The protruding end of the spring should enter into the hollow locking element.

–  Insert the end ring on the guide socket -T20132-.
–  Insert the stop / end ring along with the guide socket -T20132- onto the 5th gear synchromesh and mobile sleeve (note the installation position → Chapter).
l  The hooks -arrow 1- should be inserted in the grooves -arrow 2- of the synchromesh locking elements.
–  Press the stop ring down until the hooks are inserted.
–  Remove the guide sleeve -T20132-.
