Removing and installing 5th?gear > < Dismantling and assembling 5th?gear
Removal:
Removal:
–  Raise the vehicle and remove the left front wheel.
–  Vehicles with petrol engine: Remove the central noise insulation → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.50.
–  Remove front left wheel housing mouldings → Bodywork exterior assembly work; Rep. gr.66
–  Place below the collecting tray -T20173-.
–  Remove the drain plug with the wrench -U 40090- and empty the gearbox oil.
  Caution
When removing the gearbox casing, some remaining gear oil may drip.
   
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove the gearbox casing cover.

–  Take out the bushing pin -arrow- and remove the fork of 5th gear -1-.
–  Using the pliers -A-81124-, remove the circlip -2- for the 5th gear synchroniser body.
–  Using the pliers -A-81124-, remove the circlip -3- for the 5th gear mobile pinion.
–  Remove the mobile pinion, the mobile sleeve with synchromesh and pinion.
