Multi-function switch -F125 -: adjustment Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Calibre -T10173 -, see equivalent → Anchor –  Place the selector lever in position „N“. –  Switch off ignition. –  Remove engine cover → Booklet101. –  Remove the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23 .

–  Release the selector lever control cable -1- from the selection shaft rod -3-, use, e.g. a 10 mm spanner -Position 2-, without bending the selector lever cable in the process.

–  Remove the rod from the selection shaft -1-. –  Remove the bolts -B-.   Note Do not unscrew all of the bolts.

–  Insert the gauge -T10173- onto the selection lever.

–  Rotate the multi-function switch -A- until the connector tab -arrow 1- inserts into the groove on the gauge -T10173 -. If the connector tab can not be inserted into the groove of the adjustment gauge, the gearbox may not go into the position „N“. In this case, the gearbox must be put into the „N“ position using the adjustment gauge: –  For this rotate the adjustment gauge forwards or backwards until the connector tab -arrow 1- inserts into the groove of the gauge -T10173- (if necessary, rotate the multi-function switch -A- a little). –  Secure the gauge -T10173- with the grip (knurled) bolt -C- on the selection shaft. –  Tighten the bolts -B- to a torque of 5.5 Nm. –  Remove the gauge from the selection shaft. Installation is done in the reverse order.

–  Fit the rod of the selection shaft -1-.

–  Insert the selector lever control cable -1- on the selection shaft lever -6- taking care not to bend the selector lever control cable.   Note Under certain circumstances, it is necessary to position the selection shaft rod in the correct position to be able to push in the selector lever control cable. –  Check the selector lever cable adjustment → Chapter.
