Pipe and hose assembly: removing and fitting Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Counterhold -U 30042-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Base -T20029-, see equivalent → Anchor t  Removing → Anchor t  Installing → Anchor Removing   Note t  When performing the following operations, care must be taken not to spill brake fluid onto the side member or gearbox. If fluid comes into contact with them, the affected area must be thoroughly cleaned. t  When removing the hose assembly or master cylinder, use the hydraulic seal adapters to avoid liquid leaking onto the body. –  With ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth connection → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27. –  Remove air cleaner housing → Rep. Gr.23.

–  Choke the input hose going to the master cylinder with the pressure tool -U 30042-.   WARNING Do not press on the clutch pedal following the removal of the pipe and hose assembly.

–  Using screwdriver -1-, remove retaining clip -B- that holds pipe and hose -C-to the clutch master cylinder.

–  Release the securing clip -2- with a screwdriver and disconnect the hose -4- from the air bleeder valve -1-. –  Detach pipe/hose assembly from bracket and remove. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:   Note t  Replace the O-rings. t  Always fit the oil seals moistened with brake fluid.

–  Press in pipe and hose assembly -1- with new O-ring -2- in master cylinder connection -4- until securing clip -3- is audibly secured. –  Pull pipe and hose assembly to check it is properly secured.

–  Press in pipe and hose assembly -4- with new O-ring -3- on the bleeder valve connection -1- until securing clip -2- is audibly secured. –  Pull pipe and hose assembly to check it is properly secured. –  Purging the clutch control → Chapter
