Special tools and workshop equipment required

Detaching
–  Remove selector mechanism → Chapter
–  Bend the lugs -Pfeile- of the floorplate using a screwdriver and remove the plate (in the figure, only the lugs are shown on the left side of the plate).

–  Remove the floor plate.
–  Remove gasket.

–  Clip out the gear selector cable -1- and selection control cable -4- from the gear lever and the defelctor lever, e.g. using the release tool -T10236- or a screwdriver.
–  Remove safety washers -2- and -3-.
–  Remove gear selector cable and gate selector cable from gearbox housing .

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
–  Remove the gear selector cable and selection control cable using securing discs -2- and -3- on the gearbox housing.
–  Press the control cable -1- and selector cable -4- into the gear lever and relay lever.

–  Fix the floor plate of the gearbox housing by pressing on the lugs -arrows- → Fig..
–  Install selector mechanism → Chapter.
–  Adjust selector mechanism → Chapter.
