Removal:
  A34-0530
–  If fitted, loosen quick release fasteners -3- and remove rear noise insulation -B-.
–  Unscrew nut -arrow- and detach gearbox selector lever from selector shaft.

–  Carefully lever out oil seal, making sure shaft is not damaged.

Installation
–  To avoid damaging oil seal -C-, oil seal and selector shaft must only be fitted using assembly sleeve -01E 311 120--A-.
–  Fill half the space between the sealing lips and the dust cover with sealing grease. Allocation: →  Spare parts catalogue.
–  Lightly oil outer circumference of oil seal.

–  Drive oil seal -arrow- into housing as far as it will go.
The remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence - note the following points:
–  Remove previously removed rear sound-proofing
–  Check oil level in manual gearbox → Chapter.
