Seal between the gearbox and pair of bevelled gears, in the gearbox: replace
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Extractor kit -T20143-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tray -T20173-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Pressure tool -T10243-, see equivalent → Anchor

–  Remove the pair of bevelled gears → Chapter
–  Fit tray -T20173- beneath gearbox.
–  Remove input shaft seal by levering with the extractor -T20143/2-.
   
–  Fill half way with sealant grease → parts catalogue the space between the sealant lip and the dust guard -arrow-
–  Lightly lubricate outer edge of new seal.

–  Fit new seal as far as it will go using tappet -T10243-.
–  Remove the pair of bevelled gears → Chapter
–  Check hydraulic oil level and top-up if necessary → Chapter.
