Removing and installing securing clip
–  Secure gear lever -2-.
–  Insert the spacer sleeve -3- in the -direction of the arrow-.
–  Remove safety washer -1-.

Fit the compression spring
–  From above, attach reinforcement -A- of compression spring onto guide -1-.
–  Push reinforcement -B- of the compression spring down and insert in guide -1-

For clarity, the selector bracket is shown removed.
