  Note
t  Mount gearbox on assembly stand → Chapter.
t  If the secondary shaft or tapered roller bearings are replaced, the secondary shaft must be adjusted.
t  Whenever new meshes or a new secondary shaft are fitted consult the technical data .
t  Replace both conical roller bearings together.
   
1 - clutch housing
2 - Oil relay washer
3 - Dished washer
q   Pulling out → Fig.
q   Pressing in → Fig.
4 - Outer ring of roller bearing
q   Pulling out → Fig.
q   Pressing in → Fig.
5 - Inner ring of cylindrical roller bearing socket
q   Pressing off → Fig.
q   Pressing in → Fig.
6 - Output shaft for 1st - 4th gear
q   Adjust convergence → Chapter
7 - Needle bearing for 2nd gear
8 - Synchromeshed gear for 2nd gear
q   Synchronisation of 1st and 2nd gears for gearboxes manufactured from week 44/09 changed, deviates → Chapter
9 - Synchro-ring (inner ring for 2nd gear)
q   Synchronisation of 1st and 2nd gears for gearboxes manufactured from week 44/09 changed, deviates → Chapter
10 - Outer ring of 2nd gear
q   Synchronisation of 1st and 2nd gears for gearboxes manufactured from week 44/09 changed, deviates → Chapter
11 - Synchroniser ring for 2nd gear
q   Synchronisation of 1st and 2nd gears for gearboxes manufactured from week 44/09 changed, deviates → Chapter
12 - Mobile sleeve/synchroniser body of the 1st and 2nd gear
q   After removing retaining ring → Item, press off with 2nd gear mobile pinion → Fig.
q   Dismantling → Fig.
q   Assembling the mobile element/synchroniser body → Fig.

19 - Thrust ring for the 1st and 4th gear
q   2 off
q   Insert lugs of thrust washer in holes of output shaft
20 - Plate
q   Holds thrust washers → Item in position on output shaft
21 - Needle bearing for 4th gear
22 - 4th speed selector gear
23 - Synchroniser ring for 4th gear
q   Check for wear → Fig.
24 - Mobile sleeve/synchroniser body of the 3rd and 4th gear
q   Pull off together with 4th speed selector gear after removing circlip → Item → Fig.
q   Dismantling → Fig.
q   Installation position, locking collar and synchro-hub → Fig.
q   Assembling the mobile element/synchroniser body → Fig.and → Fig.
q   Driving in → Fig.

q   If tapered roller bearing → Item and output shaft → Item are renewed, redetermine → Fig.
