Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Socket and key -T10107A-
Removal:
  Note
t  Observe general repair instructions → Chapter.
t  Observe rules for cleanliness when working on the gearbox → Chapter.
–  Remove front left-hand wheel.
–  Remove the centre sound insulation → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr.50
–  Remove the left sound insulation → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr. 66 .
–  Unscrew the left hand side cardan shaft from the flange shaft of the gearbox and tie up to the bodywork.

–  Unscrew the screw -arrow- of the left hand side flange shaft. For this purpose, screw in two screws into the flange and counterhold the flange shaft with an assembly lever. An attachment plug -T10107A- can also be used, in order to adjust the screw to be resolved.
–  Remove the flanged shaft with the compression spring, thrust washer and conic ring.
Installation
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
–  Press the flange shaft against the spring force and tighten to the respective tightening torque.
–  Fit the left hand side wheel drive shaft → Rep. gr.40.
–  Renew gear oil → Chapter.
  Note
The gear oil must be renewed; the correct gear oil level cannot be achieved otherwise.
