Overview: Input shaft on the inside
1 - Input shaft on the inside
2 - Mobile pinion of 5th gear must not be pressed off for cleaning purposes. Pressing off → Fig.; pressing on → Fig.
3 - Sender wheel: must not be removed for cleaning purposes. Lever-off, pressing on → Fig.. Sensor rings that have been removed must always be replaced.
4 - Mobile pinion of 3rd gear: Pressing off → Fig.; pressing on → Fig.
5 - Mobile pinion of 7th gear: Pressing off → Fig.; pressing on → Fig.
6 - Circlip
7 - Needle cage
8 - Needle cage; »large« needles
9 - Roller cage

Pressing off gear wheel for 7th gear

–  Carefully press on to stop.

–  Carefully press on to stop.

–  Heat to 140 °C to press on.
–  Carefully press on to stop.
–  Align tube -2040- on thrust plate - VW 401- so that shaft can be pushed through downwards without »bumping«.
Use thrust plate -VW 402- to provide a secure hold for tube.
