Tightening torques to attach the gearbox to the engine and information on the gearbox mounting

A series of instructions follow on the left page for the bearing of the engine assembly.

The screw connections that have not been directly assigned to the gearbox can be obtained in the respective assembly groups.

Example: Subframe and pendulum support:

The pendulum support of the subframe are a part of the running gear.

Consequently, further descriptions can also be found in → Running gear; Rep. gr. 40.

–	Route the selector lever control cable correctly during the assembly.

If the plate is bent downwards, this may cause noises. The cable then »rattles« against the plate.

–	Take care of the plate. During the assembly, this must be pushed upwards against the tunnel.

–	Replace all the bolts on the left fastening of the engine assembly.

–	First hand tighten all the new bolts.

Ibiza 2008 ►, Ibiza ST 2010 ►

–	Fit the gearbox console -A- and tighten the securing bolts -1 and 2- to a torque of 40 Nm + 90°.

–	Mount the gearbox bearings and tighten the screws -arrows- to 40 Nm + 90°.

Altea 2009 ►, Altea XL 2009 ►, Leon 2009 ►

–	First screw the console onto the gearbox -1- and tighten to 40 Nm + 90°.

–	A screwdriver can be used to tighten bolts -2- to adapt the position of the console on its mount. Tightening torque of the -bolt 2:-: 60 Nm + 90°.
