Undamaged rear side windows Exeo ST 2009: removing   WARNING When removing a screen you must wear protective goggles and leather gloves. –  Remove side luggage compartment trim → body, inner assembly work; Rep. gr.70. –  Remove left front seat → body, interior assembly work; Rep. gr.70. –  Expand the tailgate → remove body, install internally; Rep. gr.70. –  Switch ignition OFF. –  Disconnect the battery earth strap → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.   WARNING Ensure the safety measures for work on the note airbag → Body, install inside; Rep. gr.69

–  Use small screwdriver to release connector locking element -3-. –  Unplug connector -1- from detonator -2-.

–  Unscrew the cap nut -arrow- on the side of the gas generator.

–  Turn the screws -3- (2 pieces) in the area of the gas generator flange -2- –  Unscrew bolts -1- and -4-. –  Remove left front seat → body, interior assembly work; Rep. gr.69. –  Replace the upper panel of the back door partially, -5- however do not remove the range of B-pillar.

–  Unscrew bolts -4- and remove fuel filler flap -2- . –  Unscrew bolts -1- and remove fuel filler flap -3- . –  Where installed, disconnect the connector integrated into the rear window antenna. Continued only for rear side windows with metal screens. –  Remove the aperture of the side windows Exeo ST 2009 → Chapter. All vehicles (continued)

–  Mount the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- in the opening of the awl. -VAG 1474/2- –  Lead from the inside out and above the middle centring -1- awl in the -VAG 1474/2- direction -Arrow A- through the adhesive. –  Take the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- from the awl -VAG 1474/2- and remove the awl -VAG 1474/2- –  Pull the end -A- of the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- so far, that the cutting thread -357 853 999 A- completely around the rear side windows can be laid

–  Lay the cutting threads -357 853 999 A--1- completely around the rear side windows. –  For vehicles without a cover for the side windows to the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--1- with the tube from the expansion disc set -VAG 1755- below lead the PU injection area of the rear side windows.   Note The thread must be cut between the Sheet metal flange and the surface of the glass attacks positioned.

–  Lead from the inside out and above the middle centring -1- awl in the -VAG 1474/2- direction -Arrow A- through the adhesive. –  Merge the end -A- of the thread cutting -357 853 999 A--2- in the opening of the awl -VAG 1474/2- –  Pull the awl -VAG 1474/2- in the direction -Arrow B- in the inside direction. –  Take the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- from the awl -VAG 1474/2- and remove the awl -VAG 1474/2-

–  Mount the end of the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--A- e.g. to the locking of the rear seat backrest. –  Apply the coil guide -VAG 1654A- as shown in the figure and attach the end of the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--B- to the coil guide -VAG 1654A-. –  Cut out the first section on the C-pillar and the upper section of the rear side windows completely.   Note Press the cutting wire -357 853 999 A- during the cutting process in the direction of disc.

–  Continue cutting the coil guide -VAG 1654A- as shown in the attached picture.

–  Continue cutting the coil guide -VAG 1654A- as shown in the attached picture.

–  Mount the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- in the opening of the awl. -VAG 1474/2- –  Lead from the inside out and above the top centring -1- awl in the -VAG 1474/2- direction of -arrow A- until it protrudes to the outside. –  Take the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- from the awl -VAG 1474/2- and remove the awl -VAG 1474/2- –  Pull the end -A- of the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--2- so far that the remaining adhesive bead can be cut.

–  Lead from the inside out and above the top centring -2- awl in the -VAG 1474/2- direction of -arrow A- until it protrudes to the outside. –  Merge the end -A- of the thread cutting -357 853 999 A--1- in the opening of the awl -VAG 1474/2- –  Pull the awl -VAG 1474/2- in the direction -Arrow B- in the inside direction. –  Take the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--1- from the awl -VAG 1474/2- and remove the awl -VAG 1474/2-

–  Mount the end of the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--B- e.g. to the locking of the rear seat backrest. –  Apply the coil guide -VAG 1654A- as shown in the figure and attach the end of the cutting thread -357 853 999 A--A- to the coil guide -VAG 1654A-. –  Completely cut out the remaining section of the adhesive bead on the C-pillar.   Note Press the cutting wire -357 853 999 A- during the cutting process in the direction of disc.

–  Remove the side pane with the syphon -VAG 1344- from centring elements.
