Installing rear window
–  Preparing used undamaged window for glazing → Chapter
–  Preparing new window for glazing → Chapter
–  Preparing body flange for glazing → Chapter
   
Measures for applying glue
1 - Bead of glue
2 - Sealer
3 - Washer
t  Measurement -a- = 7 mm
t  Dimension -b- = 11 mm
t  Measure -c- to the edge of disk is given by the encapsulation.

–  Rest the nozzle -2- completely on the glass.
–  Direction of application -arrow-.
  Note
the diameter of bead -1- will depend on the width of the hole in the applicator and the speed of application.

–  Use cartridge gun or double cartridge gun to apply adhesive -1- to the entire window circumference -SAT 5350- 2 on the overmould on the primer -VAS 5237- or the -levelled- adhesive bead at right angle to window.
Apply adhesive sealing material all round next to the moulding.
  WARNING
Window must be installed within 10 minutes, or adhesive properties of glass adhesive will be impaired.
Do not apply adhesive beading too thickly and do not press the window lightly against the body flange. As the windows no longer have sealing lips the adhesive residues become visible through the gap.
–  Insert window with the suction lifting device -VAG 1344- and press in until it lies on the spacers.
–  Minimum curing period → Chapter
–  Paintwork damage repairs → Chapter
–  Cleaning dirt caused by sealing adhesive → Chapter.
