Removing and installing moulded headlining
Removing and installing moulded headlining
Removing
Vehicles with panorama roof:
l  Panorama roof fully opened.
l  Sun blind open at about 2/3.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Remove right seat of 3rd row of seats → Chapter.
–  Remove right luggage compartment trim → Chapter.
–  Remove interior light and reading light at front and rear → Electrical system; Rep. gr.96 or  → Electrical system; Rep. gr.96.
–  Remove upper A-pillar trims → Chapter.
–  Release upper B-pillar trims from retainers → Chapter.
–  Release C-pillar trims from retainers → Chapter.
–  Remove D-pillar trims → Chapter.
–  Remove roof grab handle → Chapter.
–  Remove sun visors → Chapter.
–  Remove lights for make-up mirror → Electrical system; Rep. gr.96.
–  Remove spectacles holder in moulded headlining → Chapter.
   
–  Undo and remove screw -1- (20 Nm) and remove the respective clevis type eyelet -2-.
–  In vehicles with panorama roof, clean removal lever -80 - 200- to avoid soiling the moulded headlining.

–  Run removal lever -80 - 200- between cover frame for panorama roof opening -2- and moulded headliner -1- until you feel one of the retaining clips -3-.
–  Unclip cover frame around retaining clips using removal lever -80 - 200--arrow-.

–  Remove bolts -1- and -2- underneath console.

–  Unclip belt trim -1- from moulded headliner and push it, together with belt buckle tongue, -2- through the moulded headliner.
–  Pull air duct -4- downwards off air duct of moulded headliner -3-.
–  Carefully unclip the moulded headliner -5- from roof cross members.
–  Lower moulded headliner with a 2nd mechanic (risk of breaking) and guide it carefully through rear lid.

Installing
–  Install in reverse order of removal.
  Note
Before installing, check retaining clips for damage and renew if necessary.
