Disposal of pyrotechnic components of the restraint system
Disposal of pyrotechnic components of the restraint system
t  Those pyrotechnical components (e.g. belt tensioners, belt force limiters or airbag units) that have not ignited must be disposed of appropriately in their original packaging according to legislations. Please contact the Importer (or appropriate distribution centre) should you require more information.
  Note
Depending on the accident, the belt tensioner may have been triggered WITHOUT the belt force limiter being triggered. These components must be handled as described above .
t  Pyrotechnic components ignited in an accident can be disposed of together with commercial refuse.
  WARNING
t  This does not apply to belt tensioners which are Wankel-powered. These must be treated as not deployed pyrotechnic parts (for example air bags, seat belts etc.).
t  Reason: It is not possible with the equipment available to workshops to check whether all the ignition stages of Wankel-type belt tensioners have been ignited.
