General body repairs, interior > < Plenum chamber cover moulding: dismantling and fitting

Lateral protective mouldings: renew
  Note!
If there are still protective lateral mouldings on the vehicle, these will have to be moved around in order to fit the new ones
1 - Front door protective moulding
q   Self-adhesive
q   PUR adhesive (25% fibreglass)
q   Dismantling:
–  Before dismantling the lateral protective mouldings they should be heated with the hot air heater -V.A.G. 1416- and removed from the door
t  Installing:
–  Clean the sticking surface of the external plate with benzene, apply silicone solvent and dry
–  Mark the position of the lateral protective mouldings on the vehicle
–  Remove the protective plastic cover, place the lateral protective moulding and press strongly (before pressing check that the position of the lateral protective mouldings has not changed). The temperature for external plates and lateral protective mouldings should be 40 °C
2 - Rear door protective moulding
q   Self-adhesive
q   PUR adhesive (25% fibreglass)
q   Remove and install in the same manner as the front door lateral protective mouldings
3 - Front door
4 - Rear plates

a - 160 mm
b - 178 mm
c - 1.5 mm
