Adjusting tailgate
  Note
For a precise adjustment of the tailgate, ensure that, when it is closed, the tolerances are all equal and do not extend on any side
The adjustment must be made when the vehicle is supported on four wheels
   
–  Rotate 90° the adjustment stop using a ring spanner (e/c 24) and extract it from the hole.
–  Remove the rubber stop from the adjustment stop -1- and loosen the clamp bolt (hexagon interior 3 mm) until the insertion rail can be extracted.

–  Extract the insertion rail from the bodywork and adjust it to measurement a = 12.5 mm.
  Note
The adjustment stop of a new part is previously adjusted to the measurement 12.5 mm.

–  Fit the adjustment stop and rotate it 90° to fit it in the hole.

–  Unscrew the cap -1- from the rivet -2- (to the left and right hand sides).
–  Close the tailgate, pressing gently on the centre and pulling on the handle at the same time.
–  Adjust to a distance of 5 mm between the tailgate and the side panels using the measuring tool -U-40807-.
–  Open the tailgate once more.
–  The tailgate is adjusted with a pretension of about 3 mm.
–  Screw in the cap of the rivet (on the left and right hand side).

–  Tighten the clamp bolt -7- to 2 Nm.
–  Verify the adjustment.
