–  Fasten the gas damper in the zone x = 50 mm in a workshop vice.
  WARNING
The damper can only be fixed to the bench in this area, because any other position may lead to damage.
–  Cut the gas damper cylinder with a saw by the first third part of the total length of the cylinder, away from the rod edge as reference.
  Note
t  Wear protective eyeglasses during the sawing process.
t  Cover the cutting zone with a rag.
t  The oil and the cloth should be duly discarded.
