Check the operation of the Haldex clutch closed
Check the operation of the Haldex clutch closed
Check prerequisites:
t  Check the Haldex clutch oil level → Chapter.
t  Check the code and identification number of the engine control units and the ABS.
–  Position the vehicle on the lift.
  Caution
For safely reasons, position the vehicle on the lift so the wheels are not touching the ground.
During the check, proceed with caution to prevent damage.
–  Step on the clutch.
–  Start the engine.
–  Select 2ndª gear.
–  While using the hand brake or the parking brake, ensure the clutch is gradually responding.
The engine should stop itself.
l  If the engine has stopped:
the Haldex clutch is closed; it is operating correctly.
l  If the engine has not stopped:
the Haldex clutch is open. Possible fault cause:
t  The main pressure regulation valve may be clogged
t  Mechanical fault in the Haldex clutch
t  The four-wheel drive control unit -J492- in the rear final group is faulty
