| Check the Haldex clutch oil level → Chapter. |

| Check the code and identification number of the engine control units and the ABS. |

| Position the vehicle on the lift. |
Caution For safely reasons, position the vehicle on the lift so the wheels are not touching the ground. |
During the check, proceed with caution to prevent damage. |

| Step on the clutch pedal, place in first gear and slowly start. |
All 4 wheels should be turning. |

| Use the hand brake or the parking brake |
The rear wheels should stop and the front wheels should continue to turn. |

| If the rear wheels are not turning: |
the Haldex clutch is open; it is operating correctly. |

| If the rear wheels are turning: |
the Haldex clutch is closed. Possible fault cause: |

| The main pressure regulation valve may be clogged |

| Mechanical fault in the Haldex clutch |

| The four-wheel drive control unit -J492- in the rear final group is faulty |
