The following safety measures are to be followed for this refrigerant (additional regulations may apply in other countries). |
If during repair work, the coolant circuit must be opened, first empty the circuit → Chapter. When doing so, avoid contact with liquid or gas coolant. If in spite of taking all safety precautions coolant leaks, the combination of coolant/air should not be inhaled. |
In this situation, turn on any suction system and protect hands with gloves and the eyes with protective glasses. |
The intensive action of the refrigerant on unprotected parts of the body may lead to freezing of those parts. |
Caution Always keep an eye wash flask close to hand. |
If the refrigerant comes into contact with the eyes, immediately begin thorough rinsing of the eyes for 15 minutes. |
Then, apply eye drops and seek medical assistance even if the eyes do not cause any pain. |
The medical assistance must be given all of the details of the refrigerant causing the problem. |
|
If, despite taking the safety precautions, any part of the body comes into contact with the refrigerant, also rinse thoroughly and immediately with cold water for about 15 minutes minimum. |
Even that the refrigerant is not flammable, in any enclosed space where work is carried out with the refrigerant there must be no smoking and no welding or soldering work. |
In high temperatures from flames or hot bodies the coolant gas breaks down chemically. Inhalation of the broken down products may cause irritating coughs or dizziness. |
