Locating faults in case of an increase in temperature after the evaporator
–  Pinch off both engine coolant hoses to the climate control heat exchanger e.g. using the clamp -U-30042-.
–  Repeat cooling performance test → Chapter.
l  Do the measurement values in the two indication fields referring to the Servomotor for the left hand side temperature flap -V158-, Servomotor for the right hand side temperature flap. -V159-: (Climatic: Servomotor for the temperature flap -V68-) only differ by less than 3 °C from the measurement value of the Air temperature sender, evaporator output -G263-? → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051

yes

No

–  Remove the pressure tool -U-30042- from the two coolant hoses.
–  Check correct installation of sender with measured value deviation, as well as checking electrical connections for contact resistance.
–  Check the activation and the operation of the Servomotor for the left hand side temperature flap -V158-, Servomotor for the right hand side temperature flap. -V159-: (Climatic: Servomotor for the temperature flap -V68- → Chapter and → Chapter

Continued on the following page
–  Eliminate the cause of the faulty measurement, replace the faulty sender.

l  Is the activation and operation of the Servomotor for the left-hand side temperature flap -V158-, Servomotor for the right-hand side temperature flap -V159- (Climatic: Servomotor for the temperature flap -V68- correct?

yes

No

–  Check the operation of the temperature flap from the side of the air distribution where there is a rise in temperature → Chapter.
–  If necessary, replace the air distribution housing → Chapter.
–  Repeat cooling performance test → Chapter.
–  Eliminate the cause of malfunction → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051 → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
