Locating faults in case of an increase in temperature after the evaporator
–  Pinch off both coolant tubes to heating system heat exchanger e.g. using the clamp -U-30042-.
–  Repeat cooling performance test → Chapter.
l  If the measurement values deviate in both display fields of the left temperature flap servomotor -V158-, the right temperature flap servomotor -V159- (Climatic: Temperature flap servomotor -V68-) is only less than 3 °C of the measurement value of the evaporator outlet temperature sender -G263-? → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051

yes

no

–  Remove the pressure clip -U-30042-
–  Check correct installation of sender with measured value deviation, as well as checking electrical connections for contact resistance.
–  Check the activation and operation of the left temperature flap servomotor -V158- and the right temperature flap servomotor -V159- (Climatic: Temperature flap servomotor -V68-) → Chapter and → Chapter.

Continued on the following page
–  Eliminate the cause of the faulty measurement, replace the faulty sender.

l  Check the activation and operation of the left temperature flap servomotor -V158- and the right temperature flap servomotor -V159- (Climatic: Temperature flap servomotor -V68- okay?

yes

no

–  Check the operation of the temperature flap from the side of the air distribution where there is a rise in temperature → Chapter.
–  If necessary, replace the air distribution housing → Chapter.
–  Repeat cooling performance test → Chapter.
–  Eliminate the cause of malfunction → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
