  Note
t  For the purpose of displaying the air duct in the air distributor body, this section is shown along the lines „A“-„A“ and „B“-„B“.
t  The different flaps for the air distribution move in the heating by a flexible axle, various levers and two cam disks.
   
1 - Air distribution housing
2 - Left temperature flap (driver's side)
q   Shown in centre position
q   The two temperature flaps, both left and right, move together (individual adjustment is not possible).
3 - Routing of air flow to air duct to vent in rear centre console and centre dash panel vents
4 - Routing of air flow to air duct to vent in rear centre console and centre dash panel vents
5 - Right temperature flap (passenger's side)
q   Shown in centre position
q   The two temperature flaps, both left and right, move together (individual adjustment is not possible).
6 - Temperature flap in the left footwell (driver's side)
q   Displayed in „closed“ position
7 - Air duct in the left footwell (driver's side)
8 - Air distribution housing with cross section made by the line „A“-„A“
9 - heater element for additional air heater -Z35- with Additional air heater control unit -J604-
q   Only for vehicles fitted with a Diesel engine, depending on the vehicle equipment there is additional electric heating, see → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
q   Vehicle with additional air heater control unit -J604- up to ► 11.2006
q   Vehicles with Low heat output relay -J359- and high heat output relay -J360- from 11.2006 ►

17 - Flap in the air duct to the air duct routing to the vent in the rear centre console
q   This flap is operated via an actuating arm on the centre flap
18 - Air duct to the air duct routing to the vent in the rear centre console
q   This duct is currently sealed using a plug.
