Specifications for manual gearbox oil → Electronic spare parts catalogue (ETKA).
–  Remove the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23.
   
Diesel engine vehicles:
–  Remove bolts -1 ... 3- and remove central soundproofing panel.

Vehicles with petrol engine:
–  Remove bolts -1- and - 2- and remove central soundproofing panel.

Continuation for all vehicles
Clean gearbox.
  Caution
To drain gear oil, a pivot pin for the selector forks must be removed.
To prevent the positions of the selector forks from being changed, e.g. due to accidental operation of the selector mechanism, the selector shaft must be locked in position.

–  Press selector shaft down (direction of -arrow 1-).
–  While pressing down the selector shaft, the angle -A- must be turned down in the -direction of arrow 2- and pressed at the same time it in until it engages in selector shaft.
–  Place below the collecting tray -T20173-.

–  Oil is drained by removing the drain plug -arrow 1- and the bearing journal -arrow 2-.
–  Install pivot pin -arrow 2- with a new O-ring → Item.

–  Screw in oil drain plug -arrow 1- → Item.
–  Now turn angled rod -A- back to original position -direction of arrow- so that selector shaft can move again.
Charging
–  Fill the measuring beaker according to the capacity of the gearbox → Chapter.

–  Remove reversing light switch -F4--arrow-.
–  Use a hose (approx. 600 mm long, external diameter 10 mm) with normal funnel.
–  Insert hose in fitting hole for reversing light switch (2nd mechanic) and fill gear oil.
–  Install the reversing light switch -F4--arrow- → Item again.
–  Install the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23.
–  Switch ignition on: Connect and start the engine, connect a gear and allow it to dry for about 2 minutes.
–  Check the operation of selector mechanism → Chapter.

–  Install the centre noise insulation and insert the screws -1 - 3-.

Vehicles with petrol engine:
–  Install the centre noise insulation and screw in the screws -1- and -2-.
