Removal of 5th gear with installed gearbox → Chapter

1 - Hexagonal bolt
q   18 Nm
q   For gearbox housing cover.
2 - Gearbox housing cover
q   From 11.10 with magnet → Fig.
  Note
t  You have to consider that oil will escape when removing the gearbox housing cover
t  If the gearbox housing cover is installed with gearshift mounted, the gearbox oil must be drained and then refilled → Chapter
3 - Seal
4 - Torx bolt
q   80 Nm + 90°
q   A collar on the bolt head keeps the plate spring in the correct position
q   replace
q   Clean residual locking fluid from threaded holes for synchro-hub securing bolts and 5th gear wheel with a thread chaser. Otherwise bolts can break.
5 - Dished spring
q   Installation position → Fig.
6 - Bolt.
q   25 Nm
q   To fit the 5th gear fork bolts to the gearbox housing
7 - 5th gear fork bolt
8 - 5th gear selector fork
q   Repairing → Chapter
q   Adjust convergence → Fig.
9 - Spring
q   Version with bent ends.
q   Fitting → Fig.
10 - Mobile sleeve of 5th gear
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Adjust convergence → Fig.
11 - Locking piece
q   3 off
q   Installation position → Fig.
12 - Synchromesh assembly and pinion for 5th gear
q   With locking keys
q   Fitting → Fig.
q   Check for wear → Fig.
13 - Needle bearing
q   For 5th gear
14 - 5th gear mobile pinion
q   Installation position → Fig.

   
Cover for gearbox housing with magnet -A-
The magnet can only be attached in covers with a recess -arrow-.
When the cover is mounted, the magnet will be kept in position by the fixing screw for the bearing pinion of the gear prong for 5th gear.
