  Note!
To carry out this work it will be necessary to disconnect the battery earth strap. The vehicle should be checked for a fitted radio. If necessary, obtain radio anti-theft code first.
–  Remove the selector lever knob → Chapter.
   
–  Remove the selector lever cover by levering at points -arrows- and disconnect the cigarette lighter connector.
–  Remove the protective bushing.
–  Position the selector lever at “P”.
–  Dismounting the center console: → Bodywork, interior mounting work; Rep. Gr.68

–  Remove the wiring harness from the selector lever casing support and the wiring clip -arrows-.

–  Remove the safety washer holding the end of the selector lever cable.
–  Turn the locking lever downwards -arrow 1- and release the selector lever cable -arrow 2-.
–  Remove the front part of the exhaust assembly with catalytic converter: → Rep. Gr.26
–  Remove the front heat shield.

–  Unscrew the attachment nuts from the selector lever -arrows-.
–  Place the lever in “1” position.
–  Remove the selector lever unit from the selector lever casing.
